Internship at Ronalds

When I look back on my Internship at Ronalds Uganda, I see more than just a placement. It was a story of growth, resilience, and opportunity, one that transformed me both personally and professionally.

Like many students, I faced multiple rejections before finally securing an internship. As a Bachelor of Science in Accounting student at Makerere University Business School, I longed for an experience that would test my skills and shape my career. That moment came during a workshop organized by our student association, where various firms introduced their internship programs.

Among them was Ronalds LLP – a name that instantly stood out. When the Country Director of Ronalds Partners Uganda spoke, I felt an urge to ask a question. That simple act became the turning point. Out of more than fifty students, I was fortunate to be selected for an Internship at Ronalds , through its affiliate Ronalds Partners Uganda. It felt like a dream come true.

The First Steps of My Internship at Ronalds LLP

On 2nd June 2025, I walked into the office with a mix of nervousness and excitement. The early days were overwhelming – learning new accounting standards, adjusting to corporate culture, and finding my confidence in communication.

With guidance and mentorship, I quickly grew into my role. Within weeks, I wasn’t just learning – I was contributing. From auditing processes such as planning, execution, and reporting, to preparing tax filings like VAT, PAYE, and annual returns, every task sharpened my technical knowledge and boosted my confidence as a budding professional.

Beyond Uganda – A Regional Internship Experience

The highlight of my internship came when Ronalds LLP organized a regional team-building event in Mombasa, Kenya. Interns and staff from Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya gathered under one roof.

For me, it was more than just travel. It was exposure to a wider professional network, new cultures, and the regional vision of Ronalds LLP. From Nairobi’s bustling energy to Mombasa’s serene beaches, the experience was filled with learning and laughter. Team-building activities taught us collaboration and problem-solving, while casual conversations with colleagues expanded my career perspective.

By the end of that trip, I no longer felt like just an intern – I felt part of a regional family built on excellence and integrity.

Learning and Growing Through Challenges

Returning to Uganda, I immersed myself in daily assignments with renewed confidence. I drafted my first professional proposal, contributed to blog writing, and deepened my understanding of the Companies Act and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Every mistake turned into a lesson. Every challenge became a stepping stone. Through this, I realized that what Ronalds LLP has built over the past 15 years is more than a firm – it is a culture of mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and growth for those who are eager to learn.

Looking Back, Looking Ahead

As Ronalds LLP marks 15 years of excellence, I celebrate too – because my own success story is part of that milestone. My Internship at Ronalds Uganda transformed me from a nervous student into a confident professional, equipped not just with technical skills but with the spirit of persistence and excellence.

To me, Ronalds is not just an accounting firm. It is a hub of mentorship, a school of resilience, and a home where careers are nurtured.

Here’s to Ronalds – 15 years of impact, and many more to come.
